One of the most important ways of connecting to new business partners and future employees is through the company's website. I was tasked to visually represent the story and values of Health Union through a clear and user-friendly online experience.

LAYING A STRONG FOUNDATION

I started this process by having many meetings to hear what all of the stakeholders, executive leaders, and internal teams were looking for. My team and I researched the target audiences, what their needs are, the primary goals of the site, key functions, user personas, and competitor research. These steps were crucial in order to ensure a successful project.

DESIGN

Using the wireframes as our guide, I created the draft web pages with their final graphics, custom illustrations, and interactive elements. I designed the pages to be fully responsive and look great on all devices. My team and I followed SEO and accessibility best practices to ensure that the pages perform at the highest standard.

SITE MAPS & WIREFRAMES

With all of the research and goals in mind, I then translated the information we gathered into comprehensive site maps and wireframes. I provided multiple custom options for each page. After multiple rounds of edits and revisions, we landed on a  direction for each page that satisfied all stakeholders.

VALIDATING & USER TESTING 

A site is only great when the user can effortlessly navigate and locate the information they are looking for. My team and I did multiple rounds of user testing with many individuals. We asked our participants to complete a number of tasks and locate different information on the site. We documented where the testers had difficulty and made edits to address the issues.

LAUNCH

The new web pages were built on a development site. On the day of launch, we collected multiple representatives from our internal teams for a final review including the tech team, project management, the marketing team, and the SEO team. We then pushed the site live and made sure the URLs switched over properly.

TRACKING AND OPTIMIZING

On an ongoing basis, we also track the performance of the pages using Google Analytics, seek to improve keyword ranking, and comply with ever-changing SEO best practices.
